Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) is naturally caffeine-free, contains no oxalic acid and is low in tannins. Rooibos also contains unique antioxidants, giving it anti-inflammatory, antiviral and anti-mutagenic properties. It is an anti-spasmodic, used for relief of gastro-intestinal distress, and a bronchodilator, said to aid in respiratory conditions. Rooibos protects against cancer and heart disease and fights inflammation, hypertension and stress.
